JRC
About the Organisation

As the Commission’s in-house science service, the Joint Research Centre’s mission is to provide EU policies with independent, evidence-based scientific and technical support throughout the whole policy cycle. Its work has a direct impact on the lives of citizens, as its research outcomes contribute to a healthy and safe environment, secure energy supplies, sustainable mobility and consumer health and safety. Working in close cooperation with policy Directorates-General, the JRC addresses key societal challenges while stimulating innovation through developing new methods, tools and standards, and sharing its know-how with the Member States, the scientific community and international partners. The involved EDGAR team is part of the Air and Climate Unit in the Directorate of Energy, Transport and Climate. This directorate supports the Energy Union in tackling the challenges of instability that the EU citizens might face.

Role in CHE

The EDGAR team is leading Workpackage 3 on “Uncertainty trade-off for fossil fuel emissions” and will also deliver emission uncertainty gridmaps.
